A Minnesota church community is reeling after learning that a church volunteer, arrested and charged last week with sexually assaulting multiple children, has a decades-long history of similar allegations. According to a criminal complaint, Joshua Alirio Seeman, 50, has been charged with assaulting four children between the ages of 4 and 6 at King of Kings Lutheran Church and School in Roseville, Minnesota. A Pennsylvania pastor is facing six felony charges for possession, production, and use of child sex abuse material, following a nearly-week long child predator sting, the Pennsylvania State Police announced last week. Police charged Brad Swink, 40, with three counts of sexual abuse of children for possession of child sex abuse material, according to court records.

An American missionary was rescued yesterday, after being kidnapped last week in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa, the South African Police Service announced. Josh Sullivan, 34, was first taken at gunpoint on Thursday while preaching at the Fellowship Baptist church in Motherwell Township on Thursday evening, according to a Facebook post by Sullivan’s home church.

A deacon in Mississippi was killed this past weekend while protecting others at a church’s Easter egg hunt, the church’s senior pastor announced on Facebook. Eddie Shed was fatally shot at the holiday event held by Empowerment Ministries Christian Center at a park in Gulfport, Mississippi, Senior Pastor Gregg Magee said. Shed served as a deacon and the head of security at the church. “Our beloved Deacon Eddie Shed was taken from us in a senseless act of gun violence,” Magee said.
