EFFINGHAM, Ill. (WCIA) — Linda Spindler of the Family Life Center joined WCIA’s Taylor Mitchell to talk about their upcoming 5K race and Prayer Walk. Funds raised in these events will support the center by allowing them to provide the free services that they offer. Some of these services include free pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, and parenting and prenatal education for mothers and fathers in the community. The 5K is taking place on May 10 at the TREC Trail in Effingham.

(WHNT) — The Somerville Police Department says two people were arrested Tuesday after a traffic stop led to officers finding a “substantial” amount of narcotics, a gun and other evidence. The department said Christopher Stanley Walls, 42, of Somerville and Sonja Nicole Long, 44, of Somerville, were arrested and charged with various drug charges on April 15.
