BORDEN — The Borden Friendship Club held their monthly potluck supper on Dec. 27 in their club room with only 20 out to enjoy the meal. Happy birthday was sung to Miriam Hamm, Gaby Lajoie and Archie Wainwright. After the cake and ice cream were enjoyed, those present played cards, crokinole and Yahtzee. Most went home by 9 p.m. but seven played Yahtzee until 10:30 p.m. One person didn’t want to leave until they had won a game. St. John’s Anglican Church held a luncheon after church on Dec.

BORDEN — St. John’s Anglican Church held its Christmas service the morning of Dec. 22 with Bible readings read by Lorraine Olinyk, and Brenda Tumbach, gospel reading by Rev. Carr and prayers of the people by Sandra Long. There were special Christmas carols sung and Holy Communion was observed. A special presentation was given to Rev. Sheldon and Rosann Carr, with a floral arrangement delivered to their home earlier in the week, and on Sunday a special plaque and other gifts were given.

BORDEN — The Borden Friendship Club held a ham and turkey bingo Dec. 18 with 38 out to enjoy the games. Winning hams were Kendall Redhead, Stew Walton, Erin Paquin (two) from Warman, and Gerry Wainwright. Turkeys went home with Evelyn Kasahoff, Langham, David Buckingham, Kathy Young and Patricia Schoffer and the $20 blackout went to Jean Brooke. The next cash bingo will be Jan. 15 at 7 pm. BORDEN — Borden Farmers Market held a very successful Christmas Craft and Bake Sale in the Borden Community Centre on Nov. 30 with over 30 vendors selling their crafts, baking and home-based business wares. The event was quite crowded starting at 11 a.m. until the early afternoon and Grad 2025 sold lunch in the Senior’s Room, offering chilli, buns, sweets and beverages and also selling tickets on a large gift basket full of goodies that were won by Mary Werezak of Radisson.

BORDEN — St. John’s Anglican Church in Borden held a soup, bun and cookies luncheon in the Lower Hall on Monday, Nov. 4 with a good turnout to enjoy three different kinds of soup, buns and assorted cookies or sweets along with beverages. The donations of $404 went to the Borden Ministerial Fund that provides gift certificates and other items to help those in need at Borden and Radisson. The next luncheon will be Monday, Dec.

BORDEN —Borden Fire and Rescue members were busy handing out free hotdogs along with candies to everyone who dropped into the Borden Fire Hall on Oct. 31. Some members were dressed up in costume along with the many kids and adults that stopped by. BORDEN — The week of Oct. 21- 25 was Co-op Week and prizes were given out for shoppers. Credit Union Day was Oct. 24 and gift baskets were given to an adult and youth. It was also Library Week and a basket of goodies for adults went to S. Assman. The Borden Friendship Club held a dessert tea Oct. 17, welcoming more than 30 guests. Donations from the tea and 50/50 draw won by Jan Sparks amounted to $347 and this was donated to the Borden Care Home.

BORDEN — The Borden Farmers’ Market held their final sale for the season on Oct. 11 with a really good turnout for lunch and to pick up last-minute deals. The 50/50 draw was won by Shelly Ritchot who donated it back, Sylvia Larsen won a Tupperware container donated by Joyce Olzewski filled with a loaf of sourdough bread made by Kari Piermentier and Grace Pankewich won a Ghost wall hanging and candle lantern donated by Kathy Young.

BORDEN — The Borden Friendship Club held their monthly supper on Sept. 26 in the Borden Community Centre with 40 out to enjoy a variety of delicious potluck dishes. The walls of the hall were decorated with large coloured leaves and threshing photos and the tables had potted ornamental peppers set on gold and fall coloured serviettes along with a mini jar of wheat and wheat sheaf.
