    BORDEN — The Borden Friendship Club held their monthly potluck supper on Dec. 27 in their club room with only 20 out to enjoy the meal. Happy birthday was sung to Miriam Hamm, Gaby Lajoie and Archie Wainwright. After the cake and ice cream were enjoyed, those present played cards, crokinole and Yahtzee. Most went home by 9 p.m. but seven played Yahtzee until 10:30 p.m. One person didn’t want to leave until they had won a game. St. John’s Anglican Church held a luncheon after church on Dec.

    BORDEN — St. John’s Anglican Church held its Christmas service the morning of Dec. 22 with Bible readings read by Lorraine Olinyk, and Brenda Tumbach, gospel reading by Rev. Carr and prayers of the people by Sandra Long. There were special Christmas carols sung and Holy Communion was observed. A special presentation was given to Rev. Sheldon and Rosann Carr, with a floral arrangement delivered to their home earlier in the week, and on Sunday a special plaque and other gifts were given.

    BORDEN — The Borden Friendship Club held a ham and turkey bingo Dec. 18 with 38 out to enjoy the games. Winning hams were Kendall Redhead, Stew Walton, Erin Paquin (two) from Warman, and Gerry Wainwright. Turkeys went home with Evelyn Kasahoff, Langham, David Buckingham, Kathy Young and Patricia Schoffer and the $20 blackout went to Jean Brooke. The next cash bingo will be Jan. 15 at 7 pm.     BORDEN — The Borden Friendship Club held their annual Christmas dinner on Dec. 11, in the Borden Community Centre, with 80 out to enjoy a turkey dinner with all the trimmings catered to by the Langham United Church. President Sandra Long welcomed everyone and Rev. Carr give the blessing.

    BORDEN — Borden Farmers Market held a very successful Christmas Craft and Bake Sale in the Borden Community Centre on Nov. 30 with over 30 vendors selling their crafts, baking and home-based business wares. The event was quite crowded starting at 11 a.m. until the early afternoon and Grad 2025 sold lunch in the Senior’s Room, offering chilli, buns, sweets and beverages and also selling tickets on a large gift basket full of goodies that were won by Mary Werezak of Radisson.
