In a social media post, Robertson Trading Memories confirmed that Robertson Trading burned down in a fire on Tuesday night. Since then, hundreds of messages have poured in from people mourning the loss and offering support. Robertson Trading operated in La Ronge for nearly 60 years.

The Air Quality Warning issued for parts of the province’s northeast has expanded to encompass much of east-central Saskatchewan as well. Meanwhile, Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a Special Air Quality Statement for areas including Melfort, Tisdale and Nipawin. The statement also includes Prince Albert and stretches to include the Meadow Lake area.

    By Pisew Fire May 22, 2025 | 1:42 PM The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA) said the uncontained Pisew fire burning near Besnard Lake Road is not a threat to Hall Lake, about 105 kilometres southwest of La Ronge. The fire, which grew overnight from 700 to 5,000 hectares, is burning only four kilometres from the community. The wind is currently blowing the fire westward away from Hall Lake.
