Bill Powalinsky is referring to the rapidly growing wildfires and the thousands of people being forced to evacuate their homes. Many of them have arrived in Prince Albert to register and require shelter. In 2015, Sask Polytech was opened up to house evacuees.

The incident happened early Tuesday morning at a business in the 800 block of 15th Street East. The boy who fled the scene was later arrested without incident. On May 31, at around 3:30 a.m., police were called to the 400 block of 26 Street East for a report of a disturbance. Further information stated someone was hitting vehicles with a pipe wrench.

On May 9, Prince Albert Police was told about a group of three teen boys walking in the area of 13th Street West and 16th Avenue West. One of the teens was reportedly carrying a shotgun so officers began to canvas the area looking for the suspects.
