PORT ALBERNI — The family of a six-year-old Port Alberni boy killed by his mother and stepfather six years ago is still searching for answers in the boy’s horrific death. But Dontay Patrick Lucas’s family members began their healing journey in court Thursday, as they gathered around the boy’s mother, Rykel Charleson, and stepfather Mitchell Frank, in a gesture of forgiveness at the end of an emotional sentencing hearing.

Tamara Colebank was heading home to Hixon from Prince George p.m. Saturday night when she spotted a red glow coming from bush near the train tracks that run alongside the east side of Highway 97 just past the weigh scales at Red Rock. She found a spot to turn around and headed in her truck in the northbound lane until she came back to that spot and pulled over and confirmed there was indeed a fire, with two others burning nearby, also right beside the tracks.

A rainy Thursday in and around Fort Nelson was exactly what fire crews were looking for. In a video released late Thursday night by the B.C. Wildfire Service, fire behaviour specialist for the Parker Lake and Patry Creek blazes Evan Peck said recent rain was much needed and made for excellent conditions for fire suppression crews.

PORT ALBERNI — A Port Alberni mother and her partner have been sentenced to 15 years in prison for brutalizing and killing her six-year-old son in March 2018. Dontay Patrick Lucas died on March 13, 2018, of blunt force trauma to the brain after being transitioned back into the care of his mother, Rykel Charleson, by USMA Nuu-chah-nulth family and child services.

1 INTRODUCTION Frozen shoulder is a prevalent condition seen in primary care in the UK, 2%–10% of the general population and up to 20% of the diabetic population (Hanchard et al., 2020; Rae et al., 2019; Walker-Bone et al., 2004). Frozen shoulder is characterised by stiffness, pain, and limitation in function. Frozen shoulder is associated with variable prognosis and management strategies (Pandey & Madi, 2021; Rangan et al., 2020; Rex et al., 2021).
