    GENEVA — Twenty concerts, nine venues, four days and one city. That’s the tagline for the second annual Rocco Scott LaFaro-Geneva Jazz Festival 2024 that Michael Gonzalez and the Finger Lakes Independent Music Association are putting together the weekend preceding the solar eclipse. The festival itself was conceived by Gonzalez, a local musician, and Janelle Bradshaw, who plays trumpet and runs the blog FLXMusic247.com.

    Growing up, Sunday Editor Louise Hoffman Broach’s daughters, Katy and Rayne, were close friends and classmates with Alicia Homan. Even as young children, they appreciated Alicia’s sense of self, her commitment to her faith, and her kindness and individuality. Furman's dean's list is composed of full-time undergraduate students who earn a grade point average of 3.4 or higher on a four-point system. Johnson's parents and/or guardians are Kyle Johnson and Jennifer Johnson. Furman College is in Greenville, S.C.

    CORNING — Corning Community College will host the 45th annual Chem Bowl 2024 on May 10 on the college’s main campus on Spencer Hill from 4-8 p.m. It marks the first time the competition will be held since 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Chem Bowl is an open competition for high school science students to compete in a chemistry-based quiz event.
