The average price for a gallon of gasoline in New York State to begin the week stood at $3.10, no change from last Monday. One year ago, the New York State average was $3.73. The national average price for a gallon of gasoline as reported by AAA on Monday is $3.17, up two cents from last week. One year ago, the national average was $3.65. According to AAA, the national average for a gallon of regular saw few changes over the past week, going up slightly to $3.17.

A city of Geneva police officer has been placed on administrative leave. Chief Ronald Eveland confirmed with Finger Lakes Daily News on Monday that Officer Michael Tapscott was on leave and could not share any further details with us at this time. Constellation Energy Generation’s R.E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant will perform a test of its public notification system on Tuesday. At 3 p.m., all 96 sirens will sound in Ginna’s 10-mile radius (which includes much of Webster and ends near the Irondequoit Bay) for three to five minutes. The tests will be initiated from the City of Rochester/Monroe County 911 activation point and will be incoordination with the Wayne County Emergency Operations Center.

State Police released a new photo over the weekend of an Ontario County teenager who has been missing since last Tuesday. Owen Warner was last seen on Tuesday at his home at 6071 County Road 37 in Springwater. It’s believed the 16-year-old may be traveling to the Poughkeepsie area. Warner is described as being a white male, 5’6, 155 pounds with brown hair and green eyes. Anyone with information as to Warner’s whereabouts should contact State Police at (585) 398-4100.
