    On June 21st, 2025, the Town of Seneca Falls Police Department arrested Curtis G. Wheeler, age 36, of Seneca Falls during a domestic incident. Wheeler engaged in a verbal altercation with the victim which quickly turned physical after the victim sought refugee from Wheeler in her vehicle. Wheeler then struck the vehicle of the victim several times and continuously pulled on the door handles. As a result the window was shattered and door handles removed.

    On June 22nd, 2025, the Town of Seneca Falls Police Department arrested Casey Jackson, age 35, of Auburn, NY. The arrest stems from a personal injury accident where Jackson left the roadway traveling northbound on SR 89. During the investigation of the accident, it was learned that Jackson was operating the vehicle in an intoxicated condition along with five children under the age of 16 in the vehicle as well.

    The top of a Port Byron auto parts store partially collapsed Saturday. Bricks and other debris from Advantage Auto Stores at 82 Utica St. in the village crashed onto the sidewalk and street. The Citizen reports no one was inside the building at the time, and no injuries were reported. The downtown intersection of Routes 31 and 38 was closed for hours as the debris moved from the road and was fenced off on the sidewalk.

    Governor Kathy Hochul Sunday declared a State of Emergency in 32 counties in response to severe weather and extreme heat impacting communities across New York. A cluster of severe thunderstorms impacted parts of the North Country, Central New York, Southern Tier, and the Capital District early this morning causing downed trees and power lines, structural damage and numerous power outages. Rainfall rates of up to two inches per hour will continue with additional two to four inches totals likely.
