    A child exploitation investigation conducted by State Police has landed a Southern Tier man in trouble with the law. The investigation into Alexander Lowman, of Horseheads, started with a referral to State Police from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. In April of 2024, Troopers executed a search warrant on Tifft Avenue in Horseheads as part of an ongoing child exploitation investigation. During the search, a number of electronic devices were seized.

    A New York State Department of Transportation worker was airlifted to Albany Medical Center on Thursday after being struck by a car in Pittstown, Rensselaer County. State Police responded to State Route 7 near the intersection of Campbell Lane at around 2:15 p.m. The DOT worker was struck by a westbound car. The worker suffered undisclosed serious injuries. The driver of the car remained on scene and State Police have not yet provided an update on possible charges.

    Seneca Falls Police is asking for your help if you witness an accident at Noon on Thursday on State Route 414. Investigators say the accident was caused by a southbound vehicle failing to yield the right of way to oncoming traffic, causing a second car to roll over multiple times in the driver’s attempt to avoid the collision. The driver of the car that failed to yield left the scene before police arrived. The driver and a passenger in the car that rolled over were treated on scene by EMS.

    An armed standoff with State Police shut down all lanes of the New York State Thruway between the Victor and Henrietta exits early this morning. Around 3 a.m., Troopers responded to a report of a vehicle off the road on I-90 westbound near mile marker 358 in the town of Pittsford, Monroe County. They located a 2019 Ford Mustang matching the description in the eastbound lane.

    An Auburn Police officer was injured last night while responding to a disturbance at a bar on State Street involving an uncooperative patron. Officers were called to the establishment after reports that a man, later identified as Christopher Bell, was causing a disruption and refusing to leave. When police arrived and attempted to speak with Bell, he was uncooperative. As officers tried to escort him from the premises, Bell fled through a back door and entered a fenced-in area.
