It will start to roll at 10 a.m and run until noon through downtown Chillicothe. This year's theme is "Peace on Earth." Typically, the Chillicothe Chamber of Commerce chooses an annual theme for the parade that is timely or a theme the Chamber wants the parade to reflect into the community, said Crystal Narr, executive director of the Chillicothe Area Chamber of Commerce.

The Festival of Lights has been a decades-long town tradition in the northwest town of Cameron. On Saturday, Nov. 30, a number of activities will begin at 5 p.m. with the lighted holiday parade. The event-filled festival is hosted by Cameron Main Street and the Old School of Cameron. The lighted parade begins at Recreation Park, travels uptown and then downtown to end its route at McCorkle Park at the center of town, said Linda Krentz, the president of Cameron Main Street.

Jean Nicklas started Jowin's Kitchen, a gooey butter cake business, in 2021 and after quitting her corporate job - an idea that had stuck with her for about 25 years. Nicklas sells her cakes at the "Curated. Crafted. Created." event, a mid-Missouri makers market hosted by Andrea Lyn Events, which has taken place on a quarterly basis since 2022. From being a home-based bakery to a storefront that opened in August, Nicklas has sold her cakes at every single market since the beginning.

Earlier this month, it was announced that a Trader Joe's location would be coming to Columbia. The timeline for this move is unclear, but local businesses said it could affect revenue and support from the community.
