Brian Walshe’s attorney took the stand Wednesday to explain how state police obtained his electronic devices, which authorities say he used to search the internet about body decomposition while his wife was still missing. The Google searches, along with other evidence, led state police to charge Walshe with the murder of his wife, Ana Walshe, and a single count each of body dismemberment and witness intimidation.

Karen Read spoke on the steps of the Norfolk County courthouse minutes after a jury found her not guilty of all the charges of killing her boyfriend, Boston police officer John O’Keefe. “I could not be standing here without these amazing supporters who have supported me and my team financially, and more importantly, emotionally for almost four years,” Read said to a large gathering of her supporters outside the courthouse. Only days after earning his diploma from Chelsea High School, agents from Immigration and U.S. Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested Geovani Esau De La Cruz Catalan a few blocks from his home. The 20-year-old had gone to pick up a few tools from his father when ICE agents pulled him over, asked for his license and then arrested him, according to his stepmother, Mayra Balderas. “I’ve been reaching out to everyone that I know,” Balderas said.
