U. TULPEHOCKEN TWP., Pa. -- Emergency officials are on the scene of a crash in Berks County off of I-78. Photos from the scene show firefighters working to clear the incident at the intersection of Route 183 and Old Route 22. It happened around 4 p.m. Friday. It appears at least two vehicles were involved. A freelance photojournalist for WFMZ is at the scene. This is a developing story. Stick with 69 News for updates.

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ -- Police in New Jersey say an elementary school and medical center went into lockdown Friday after a man was spotted pointing what appeared to be a gun in the area. It was later found that the gun displayed was a toy, police report. The incident happened around 2:20 p.m. in the 600 block of Willow Grove Street.

READING, Pa. -- Ongoing work on Penn Street in Reading will cause temporary closures and detours. The work at 431 Penn Street will continue on Monday, April 7 on the back end of the building. The City of Reading reports that the following street closures and traffic adjustments will be in effect until further notice:• Court Street between 4th and 5th Streets and Madison Avenue between the parking lot at Washington Street and Court Street will be closed.

READING, Pa. -- A search warrant resulted in charges being filed in a drug case out of Reading. A media release from police reports that in January 2025 the Berks County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force initiated the drug investigation. Police say a search warrant at the home of Patrick Bogay Clark in the 900 block of Muhlenberg Street on the morning of April 4.

READING, Pa. – Police continue their search for the suspect who prompted lockdowns at schools in Berks County on Thursday. Investigators say 33-year-old Axel Caraballo Morales fired more than a dozen shots at his girlfriend's vehicle as she drove away on Jackson Street near Alvernia University's main campus. No one was hit, however the incident prompted a lockdown at Alvernia. Two Berks school districts also took precautions.
