Norwalk Public Schools (NPS) has opened 50 seats at its three Open Choice inter-district magnet schools for students from five neighboring towns. Students in Darien, New Canaan, Weston, Westport and Wilton can now apply to attend Norwalk Public Schools’ Open Choice magnet schools through Cooperative Educational Services.

The SoNo Collection, one of the largest taxpayers in Norwalk, is appealing its new assessed value after the latest property revaluation from the city. As a part of the 2023 revaluation, the city found the appraised value of the property, located at 100–101 North Water Street, to be $224,956,130 and its assessed value, or 70% of that, to be $157,469,290. The assessed value is what the property owner pays taxes on.

Friday marked the beginning of the 110th Celebration of the St. Ann Feast at Norwalk’s St. Ann Club that will continue through Sunday evening. “La Festa di Sant’Anna” is a celebration of Italian heritage and a tradition honoring St Ann and St Joachim, the parents of the Virgin Mary and the grandparents of Jesus in the Catholic tradition. Originating in and enjoyed widely across Italy, the holiday came over with the mass migration of Italians in the early 20th Century.
