Provident Industrial is launching construction on Eastex 59, a 740K SF industrial project near George Bush Intercontinental Airport. Provident Industrial, a division of Dallas-based Provident, closed financing for Eastex 59 in late March, with Junction Commercial Real Estate serving as the capital partner. Eastex 59 will offer four buildings with units from 148K SF to 224K SF, ample trailer storage and parking, efficient circulation, and visibility.

Agricultural machinery company Hylio plans to open a new 40K SF manufacturing facility in Richmond. The building will be on the same campus as Hylio’s current drone manufacturing facility and headquarters. The new facility will multiply Hylio’s production of autonomous crop treatment drones by five. Its maximum production capacity, projected for the end of 2027, will be more than 5,000 drone units per year.

Most Houston commercial properties and asset classes managed to modestly increase in value despite a year that brought a historic windstorm, a hurricane and plenty of distress, according to the Harris Central Appraisal District. Commercial property values rose about 2% from the proposed values in 2024, with 60% of properties increasing in value and 12% decreasing, HCAD said in a news release this week.
