DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — After more than nine years, a family is on the path to healing after a murder took their dad, brother and protector. Someone with intimate details of that night is telling her story for the first time. Jason Corbett was killed by his then-wife Molly Corbett and her father Tom Martens in a home in Davidson County in 2015. Molly alleged she was a victim of domestic violence for years, and that night her father walked in on Jason strangling her.

(WGHP) — Thousands of acres of farmland and hillside were washed away in Hurricane Helene, but a group of agriculture drone operators in North Carolina is helping that area grow again. Preston Cave uses his 50-pound drone for almost everything when it comes to agriculture. “I’ve been able to use it to spray herbicide on mountain pastures, to spraying rice in South Port on the Cape Fear River, it’s very easy to mobilize,” said Cave.

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — The Greensboro community is mourning the loss of a beloved teacher. Sunshine Fagg died at 37 on Wednesday. She was a mother of a 16-year-old daughter and a seven-year-old son and a teacher at Northwest Day School. Her daughter stayed by her side while she was in hospice care, taking her outside and being her nurse. Her sister Summer May said anyone who met her sister could see she was a true ray of light.

KERNERSVILLE, N.C. (WGHP) — A 16-year-old student at Glenn High School was charged after a stabbing during a fight on Monday, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office. Jaiden Isaiah Godley, 16, is a student at GHS and is being charged with assault with a deadly weapon, inflicting serious injury. Investigators say additional charges could be coming. Forsyth County Sheriff Bobby Kimbrough said a student was stabbed in a restroom at GHS at about 12:15 p.m. on Monday.

She always wants to be around,” Summer May said. May is talking about her sister, aptly named Sunshine. She says anyone who meets her sister knows she is a true ray of light.
