CrimePublished: May. 14, 2025, 4:10 p.m.A man was hospitalized Tuesday night after he was shot in Harrisburg, according to police. Officers were sent to the 2200 block of Market Street around 10 p.m. for reports of shots fired and a person struck, a police report said. When police arrived in the area, they found a man who had been shot at least once. The man was taken to a local hospital for emergency treatment, but his condition is not known at this time.

In response to a growing number of emergency calls, the Lower Paxton Township Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday to discuss the hiring of 10 paid firefighters to assist the township’s three volunteer fire agencies. The township, which has around 55,000 residents within its 28-square-mile footprint, represents Dauphin County’s largest and most populated municipality.

CrimePublished: May. 13, 2025, 5:51 p.m.Two boys, ages 9 and 12, were detained in Lancaster County after police said they robbed two 12-year-old girls at a park earlier this week. The robbery took place around 7:30 p.m. May 10 at Culliton Park when the boys approached the girls and took their belongings, according to a police report. When the girls tried to take their items back, the 12-year-old boy pulled a realistic-looking BB handgun out of his waistband, police said.

A Dauphin County woman who pleaded guilty to driving four students in a school van while under the influence of multiple prescription medications in 2023 was sentenced this month, according to the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office.
