Gospel Rescue Mission hosted its fifth annual Easter Blessings event today on the southside. At the event, which ran from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., over 2,000 Tucsonans received a free meal, resources, enjoyed activities and live music. The event is largely made possible through donations from the community. Gospel Rescue Mission’s CEO, Lisa Chastain, says 400 volunteers spent their afternoon giving back on Friday.

MARANA, Ariz. (KGUN) — Blazing trails and building legacy was the theme of this year's Marana State of the Town, the first since Jon Post was appointed mayor. The annual event, hosted in partnership between the Marana Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Marana, took place at the Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain. The sold-out event with 500 attendees was the first State of the Town since late Mayor Ed Honea’s passing late last year.

MARANA, Ariz. (KGUN) — Today in Marana, co-op lineworkers put their skills to the test at the annual Arizona Lineman’s Rodeo hosted at Trico Electric Cooperative. Apprentice lineworkers from nine utility co-ops across the state showcased their skills in a variety of competitions. While it is competitive, building camaraderie is at the core of the event. “It’s good to build team-building among the different companies,” said John Dungan, who is the chairman of two committees that host the rodeo.

MARANA, Ariz. (KGUN) — On Thursday evening, the entire family is invited to attend a free concert as part of the Town of Marana’s ‘Concerts in the Courtyard’ series. The concert will be held at the Ed Honea Marana Municipal Complex, 11555 W. Civic Center Dr, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.The town hosts a free concert on the third Thursday of every month in the spring and fall. Performers range in genre, but are all from Southern Arizona. ‘No Sand Beach Band’ will be performing at this month’s concert.

TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN) — As Easter is approaching, the City of Tucson and Raising Cane's partnered to host the annual ‘EGGstravaganza’ event on Saturday, April 12, at Dorris J. Thompson Park in Midtown. The 26th annual event ran from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.The community was invited to enjoy free activities, check out different vendors, take pictures with the Easter Bunny and kids up to 12 years old participated in egg hunts. Recreation Coordinator Santino Almazan says the egg hunts get pretty competitive.
