That resulted in a 3-0 Grand Island loss Friday at GISH Memorial Stadium. The possessions helped the Spartans in about every category as they had 12 shots, eight on goal, committed only five fouls and had six corner kicks.

Celia McCoy is having a strong start to her junior season. Especially in the 300 hurdles. The Grand Island Senior High junior set the school record in the 300 hurdles in her first time competing in the event this year at the Columbus Invite this past Friday. She won the race at 43.94, which is the best time ran in the state regardless of class. That also put her at the No. 1 spot on the Grand Island Independent All-Time All-Area leaders.
