Pizzeria Leopold has been named the winner of the 2025 Denver Gazette Pizza Bracket, beating out CHAR Stone Fired Pizza in the final round with 57.5% of the vote. The Lakewood pizzeria emerged from a competitive field of 32 shops across the metro area in the March Madness-style tournament. CHAR advanced to the finals after defeating Cosmo’s Pizza with 79% of the semifinal vote.

The stage is officially set. After three rounds of debates, social media promos and spats, and the most important part, voting, The Denver Gazette pizza bracket has now been narrowed down to the Final Four. Our four remaining pizza restaurants are CHAR Stone Fired Pizza, Cosmo’s Pizza, Pizzeria Leopold and Marco’s Coal Fired. Pizzeria Leopold took home the narrowest victory in the Elite Eight, advancing by 12 votes, 209-197 over New York-style favorite Fat Sully’s.

Brian Vogt, who served as CEO of Denver Botanic Gardens since 2007, has died, the organization announced Tuesday. He was 66-years-old. Vogt led the Gardens for nearly two decades and oversaw its expansion and development. In a statement, the organization described him in a statement as a “leader, mentor and friend” and credited him with helping shape the organization. During his tenure, Vogt advocated for making the Gardens more accessible and inclusive.

Denver’s pizza faithful delivered a dramatic Sweet 16 round in The Denver Gazette’s Pizza Bracket, filled with nail-biters, decisive wins, and major upsets. After tallying reader votes from the second round of action, the results are now in. The most shocking result came on the left side of the bracket, where Blue Pan — a favorite to win it all — was narrowly eliminated by CHAR Stone Fired Pizza by just four votes in a 208–204 thriller.
