Baltimore Fishbowl won 28 awards, including Salesperson of the Year for the second consecutive year and two Best of Show honors, in the 2024 Maryland, Delaware, District of Columbia (MDDC) Press Association Contest. This was Baltimore Fishbowl’s sixth year participating in MDDC’s contest, and our second year competing in Division C with news publications of a similar audience size, including Carroll County Times, Daily State News, Maryland Matters, The Catholic Review, and The Daily Times.

Organizers have cancelled this year’s Baltimore County Farmers Market at the Maryland State Fairgrounds, citing lack of vendor interest. The farmers market was scheduled to take place every Wednesday from June through October at the Timonium fairgrounds. But Market Manager Bill Langlotz and his team announced Thursday afternoon that the 2025 market will not be held after all.

Baltimore officials are asking residents and businesses to conserve water as unusually low rainfall has diminished one of the region’s reservoirs to its lowest level in nearly 20 years. The Liberty Reservoir in western Baltimore County is one of the major sources of drinking water for the region. But drought conditions have caused the water levels to fall. To account for the reduction, Baltimore officials are drawing less water from Liberty Reservoir and more from Loch Raven Reservoir.

A permanent location is in the tea leaves for Baltimore Black-owned tea company Equitea. The company will move to the ground level of 311 W. 28th St. in the Remington Row building, just blocks away from where they opened a pop-up on Howard Street in February. The new permanent location will be a cafe called “House 28 Matcha by Equitea,” selling matcha-based drinks ranging from $3 to $9.
