Equipped with a camera, the local birder is at the ready to document whatever he sees. And, with his frequent trips around the Minesing Wetlands, he has a bounty of photos, each with its own story. At age 14, Daniel Babavali has some major achievements under his belt. The Grade 9 student at Cardinal Carter Catholic High School in Aurora returned from April’s national karate competition in Vancouver, B.C. with a gold medal. That qualifies him for the Pan American Karate Championships to be held in Paraguay in August. He’s pretty excited about competing on the international level.
