A MEASLES OUTBREAK has killed a second child in Texas, authorities said, with almost 650 people now infected as the highly contagious disease spreads. “We are deeply saddened to report that a school-aged child who was recently diagnosed with measles has passed away,” Aaron Davis, vice president of UMC Health System, a medical center in Texas, told reporters.

THOUSANDS OF WOMEN have to travel to neighbouring countries in Europe to access abortion care due to barriers faced at home. A cross-border investigation, Exporting Abortion, exposes this stark statistic for the first time, following an extensive examination of data and personal testimonies across Europe. Our analysis found that more than 5,000 women travel from their home countries every year due to the difficulties they face in accessing abortion care. In 2023, that number was at least 5,860.

DART SERVICES BETWEEN Dalkey and Bray have been suspended this morning after vandalism damaged overhead lines. Southbound services will terminate in Dalkey and operate back Northbound. In its latest update, at 9.11am, Irish Rail said that there will be knock-on delays elsewhere due to congestion caused. AROUND 20 CARS at a Tesla dealership in Belfast were damaged over the weekend. The deputy leader of the TUV (Traditional Unionist Voice) meanwhile has described the incident as “even more reprehensible” if the vehicles were targeted due to the business being owned by Elon Musk. Police in south Belfast are appealing for information after a report was received on Sunday that damage had been caused to a large number of vehicles at the Tesla dealership on the Boucher Road.

The multinational is promising “over 200 million products” for Irish customers, with prices set in Euro, one-day delivery and “easier returns” all part of the offering. It’s also said that there will be no additional customs charges for ordering goods.
