ST. PAUL – A St. Paul couple is helping raise awareness about organ and tissue donation. On April 7, Albert and Denise Jacques were at the St. Paul Registry to talk to members of the community about how organ and tissue donation can save lives. "Albert himself was a recipient of a double lung transplant and we're forever grateful for that," said Denise. Albert said he got sick in 2015, which only kept getting worse. "I went to the doctor and he diagnosed me with pulmonary fibrosis," he said.

LAKELAND – The Acimowin Opaspiw Society (AOS) says it has found evidence that the members of Saddle Lake who attended the Blue Quills Residential School were specifically targeted by the government as a form of retaliation to the Frog Lake Massacre and the North-West Rebellion of 1885. On March 29 at the St. Paul Recreation Centre, the AOS hosted an event commemorating the 140th year since the resistance, where they also presented their evidence to members of the public to support their claim.

ST. PAUL – Town of St. Paul residents will see a three per cent tax rate increase, after council approved its 2025 operating budget on March 24. But property owners may notice an even bigger jump in their overall tax bills. Mitchel Bachelet, chief financial officer with the Town of St. Paul, told council that among the reasons for the overall increase is the province’s increase to the education property tax requisition, or the Alberta School Foundation Fund (ASFF).
