OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — A 19-year-old man has been convicted for a shooting that took place at the Oklahoma State Fair in September 2023. The Oklahoma County jury found 19-year-old Canaan Jenkins guilty on Friday after being arrested and charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon for a shooting that occurred at the 2023 Oklahoma State Fair. During the State Fair on September 23, 2023, Oklahoma City Police were called to reports of a shooting at the Bennett Event Center.

The Moore Police Department said that they received a call at around 3 p.m. about a burglary in progress involving 27-year-old Carlos Manuel Uribe, after it was reported by a caller that Uribe broke into their apartment, believed to be armed with a gun. Moore police and the South Metro SWAT team evacuated nearby apartments and attempted to contact Uribe several times while the front door was barricaded. Officials say that gas was deployed inside the apartment before SWAT attempted to enter.

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Police responded to a shooting in northeast Oklahoma City on Thursday afternoon that left three people injured. According to authorities, the shooting happened at an apartment complex near NE 36th Street and Prospect Avenue. Police say two victims were shot, one victim was grazed, but were said to have non-life-threatening injuries. Thelma R. Parks Elementary School was placed on lockdown as police investigated the area.
