    It was enjoyable watching the celebration in Boulder a few Sundays ago. Former CU coaches, players, staff, administrators and fans celebrated 50 years of Buffs women’s basketball. It looked like everyone was having fun. There’s lots to celebrate. Ironically, the early success of Colorado women’s basketball started with Sox Walseth. The first person ever in NCAA basketball history to coach men and women’s basketball teams at the same school.

    The football season is over. On all levels. Apparently the Colorado Buffaloes head football coach, despite much chatter, ain’t going anywhere. Moving forward without Shedeur and Travis? What will the spring practices reveal? Inquiring minds want to know. This much is certain for a guy hanging around Colorado football for five decades. Former Buffs who have made fans wonder in amazement at their athletic talents? It’s a real pleasure to write of the well-knows and shine light on their community service.

    Your scribe thought it was a country song but research suggests the lyrics invading his brain come from the British rock group Coldplay. However, digging deeper confirms country icon Willie Nelson did sing, “The Scientist.” In fact, some music critics believe Nelson sang it better than Coldplay which released the song in 2002.

    It was a question on many minds prior to the amazing celebration of life for the Buffs greatest coach, Bill McCartney. 13 years at the helm, most wins ever and a national title. Nobody else has such a resume. The question was, “Would Prime attend?”The answer is a resounding yes. Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders and many current players were inside the CU Events Center. At least for your scribe, it was not surprising. It was also very respectful.
