KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Another Kansas City Royals starter will have his start skipped due to a minor injury. Royals manager Matt Quatraro told reporters Friday that right-handed pitcher Seth Lugo had inflammation in his right middle finger. As a result, Kansas City will skip Lugo’s scheduled start in Saturday’s game against the St. Louis Cardinals. Quatraro said left-handed pitcher Noah Cameron will once again be recalled from Triple-A Omaha to make a spot start for Kansas City.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Sporting KC appears to have turned its season around. After starting 2025 winless in its first eight matches, the club has three wins in the last five games after making a coaching change. A little over a month ago, longtime SKC assistant Kerry Zavagnin was named interim head coach after the club parted ways with franchise icon Peter Vermes. The 50-year-old is no stranger to the club.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Around 100 people gathered outside KCFD Station No. 42 to honor the life of Graham Hoffman. The group gathered as Hoffman’s funeral procession drove him past his workplace for the final time. Many in attendance lived in the neighborhood or had personal connections to Hoffman. All were gathered to grieve a life taken too soon. “It just puts life in perspective for you,” said Shelby Lyon, a former firefighter in Boone County.

The Hawklets’ time is the fastest in the nation this season. “It kind of all clicked and we all kind of had our best days of our lives just right on the same day,” said Henry Acorn, a Rockhurst senior committed to run next year at the University of Virginia.
