Around £6m in funding has been announced to progress economic and community projects in an area of Belfast that was one facing an “existential crisis”. These include the transformation of disused archways into a new restaurant and gym as well as plans for a new heritage centre and investment for shared housing. The funding, which has been provided by a number of different bodies, was announced by the Market Development Association (MDA) on Wednesday.
