Police officers have received reports of illegal fishing and anti-social behaviour over the last few days. Newark police said that the behaviour reported to be around Balderton Lake has the potential to harm wildlife, damage the environment, and cause distress to members of the public. They will be patrolling the area alongside Newark and Sherwood District Council antisocial behaviour team and reviewing CCTV from the area to, if identified, take action against any offenders.

A band is touring the UK to celebrate the release of their new single, which takes inspiration from sex work and the profession’s power dynamic. Riff-laced Brighton band Slung have released their debut album, In Ways, which was released on May 2 via Fat Dracula. The band, formed by Katie Oldham on vocals, Ali Johnson on guitar, Ravi Martin on drums and Vlad Matveikon on bass, will be performing at Nottingham JT Soar this Friday (May 16).

More than two dozen members of a Newark office team will be donning their walking shoes for a charity that provides supportive palliative care. Members of the Vodafone office team are set to walk 17.5 miles from Lincoln Central Station to Newark Castle to raise funds for Beaumond House Hospice Care this Wednesday (May 14).
