BALDWIN COUNTY, Ga. — In November, Baldwin high school and Jesse Hicks partied ways during Hicks's second stint as head coach of the Braves football team. Thursday evening, Hicks was Hired by East Laurens as the school's new head football coach. Hicks brings in 27 years of coaching experience along with 133 wins and 14 playoff wins. Hicks replaces Bin Turner who’s been the Falcons head coach since 2018. East Lauren’s finished 3-8 last year after a first-round playoff appearance.

HOUSTON COUNTY, Ga. — Houston County High School's quarterback, Antwann Hill, is a rising star in the game of football. The Houston County junior's stock has grown since Georgia head coach Kirby Smart offered him a full scholarship as an eighth grader. The 4-star signal-caller is considered the fourth-highest-ranked quarterback in the country in the class of 2025.

HOUSTON COUNTY, Ga. — Jacy Harrelson is a two-way player for the Houston County Lady Bears softball team. She is one who gets it done in the circle as one of the team's star pitches. She also competes well in the field and in the batter's box to the tune of 36 home runs in three seasons, including her team-leading nine this season. “She has been a huge part of this program," Houston County High School Head Coach April Collins said.

KATHLEEN, Ga. — Preston Bird is a three-year starter for the Veterans Warhawks helping lead them to greatness every way he can whether it’s on offense or defense. He knows Warhawk Nation is counting on him to get the job done. “I approach it the same every time I step on the field,” he said. Every game, his goal is the same, Bird said. “I just want to be impactful and help my team out and if I’m on defense I’m going to go out there and make tackles [and] catch interceptions," Bird said.
