DERUYTER, N.Y. — Scott Revette said he was shocked when his wife, Anna, called to tell him she'd been arrested. He said, "She's innocent and she's never done a crime in her life."Revette, a 37-year-old DeRuyter Central School District English teacher, is now on administrative leave. The Madison County Sheriff's Office confirmed they arrested her Monday and she's facing two felony charges.

The Onondaga County Board of Elections confirmed Sharon Owens, Pat Hogan and Chol Majok are all on the ballot for a Democratic primary in the race for Syracuse Mayor. Two other hopefuls, Jimmy Oliver and Alfonso Davis received objections on their signatures to get on the ballot last week. Elections Commissioner Dustin Czarny confirmed they both met the threshold for the number of signatures to get on the primary ballot.

One year ago, Syracuse Police Officer Michael Jensen and Onondaga County Sheriff's Lieutenant Michael Hoosock put on their uniforms for the last time. What started as a traffic stop on Tipperary Hill in Syracuse on Sunday, April 14 2024 ended with gunfire erupting in a quiet Salina neighborhood on Darien Drive. Suspect Christopher Murphy shot and killed Jensen and Hoosock. Murphy ambushed Hoosock in a neighbor's backyard, and then went to the front and started firing at Officer Jensen.

The city is looking to funnel $2 million to the Housing Authority, so it can pay its developer to do necessary environmental testing related to the East Adams Neighborhood transformation project.
