SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — The earlier cancer is caught, the better the chance of it being treated. Pancreas cancer is especially nasty because there is no screening, and it usually doesn't show symptoms until it's too late. KUTV reporter Paul Nelson said he and his doctors think he's lucky that he had early symptoms, and that he was smart to get checked. "I had strange symptoms in February, stuff that I hadn't seen before," Nelson said.

That's not the case anymore with the executive chef at Intermountain Health, who whips up great quality food for each of the about 32,000 meals per day. "If you're a patient here, a guest of mine, 99% of the time, it's the worst day of your life. And if I can impact that in a positive way, what a huge win. What an impact that is, right?" SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — In honor of Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Month, Fresh Living host David Osmond sat down with Mary Nickles to shed light on the disease through personal expereince. Osmond was diagnosed at the early age of 26 years old. His father had also lived with MS. The condition causes scarring and damage on the myelin sheath in the central nervous system. Symptoms present differently for everyone. David's manifested as extreme pain, with immobility and diminished eyesight at its worst.

Saldana has been deaf since birth, but that hasn’t stopped the recent Skyline High School graduate from achieving her hoop dreams. This summer, the dynamic Gallaudet University forward will represent the United States at the World Deaf Basketball Championships in Argentina.
