Miller Communications Corporation, while Bonneville International, which also owns the NBC affiliate KSL-TV (channel 5), manages KJZZ through a time brokerage agreement. KJZZ's studio is situated on West Amelia Earhart Drive in the northwestern part of Salt Lake City, and its transmitter can be found on Farnsworth Peak in the Oquirrh Mountains, located southwest of the city. Jayson, age 11, was crossing the street with his scooter Tuesday when he was hit and remains in the hospital in critical condition. Family members tell 2news he has some serious brain injuries and is in a medically induced coma.
