    PINE VALLEY, Utah (KUTV) — Twelve structures have been destroyed and 400 others remain threatened as the Forsyth Fire continues to burn in Washington County, fueled by high winds and dry conditions. The Utah Division of Natural Resources said the wildfire, which ignited Thursday evening northwest of St. George, had grown to an estimated 1,500 acres by Friday evening in the Pine Valley area. A mandatory evacuation order was issued for the Pine Valley Community.

Reports of the sound surfaced on Facebook around noon, with users from across the northern Wasatch Front — including Ogden, Pleasant View, Layton, Huntsville, Kaysville, Roy, and Clinton — describing the boom as powerful enough to shake homes.

    ALPINE, Utah (KUTV) — A man was seriously injured Sunday morning after being impaled by a stick while rappelling in the Alpine area. Sgt. Normond with the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office said a Search and Rescue team was dispatched to the area around 10:15 a.m. on June 8 following reports of an injured climber. The man was reportedly descending when a stick impaled his thigh. Rescue crews used a LifeFlight helicopter to hoist him off the mountain.

    NEPHI, Utah (KUTV) — Three young men were arrested Saturday night in Nephi after a car chase ended in a crash with another vehicle, followed by a brief foot pursuit. Nephi police said they were notified about a vehicle pursuit on the interstate by another local law enforcement agency around 8:30 p.m. on June 7. The vehicle reportedly exited the interstate into Nephi, where the three suspects abandoned the car and fled on foot through a nearby neighborhood.

    Jenna was leaving a multi-stake youth dance in Lehi when she was hit by a southbound vehicle near 500 West and 100 North while crossing the street, according to authorities. She was initially taken to a local hospital before being flown to a Salt Lake City hospital via LifeFlight.
