Tucker, a 7-year-old American Yellow Labrador Retriever, is feeling much better these days. His owner, Amanda House, age, of Royal Oak, said Tucker had a cough that started in September and lasted for over a month. What she didn't realize was that Tucker was ill from a mysterious canine virus that had spread to 14 states and resulted in the death of at least one dog. She thinks it's the first case in Michigan.

It's not quite Christmas in Paris, but it's close. Francophiles will be in their glory this December when the Provencal-Weir House hosts a French Holiday Tea, complete with French tourtiere, a traditional beef and pork pie, sweets, and, of course, tea. The event is aimed at raising money for the restoration of the home, a Greek Revival farmhouse. It's the former home of Pierre Provencal and is believed to be the oldest surviving residence in the Pointes.

A staple at 4832 Greenfield Rd. just north of Michigan Avenue in Dearborn, Capri has developed an almost cult-like following over the years, with customers, who grew up on their baked goods, driving from across the state.
