FREMONT — Evergreen’s baseball team, the No. 3 seed in the Division VI Fremont Ross District, scored in every inning except two to topple No. 2-seeded Huron 9-0 in a district semifinal on Wednesday at Louise Ann Lease Memorial Field in Fremont. The Vikings (13-10) will next face No. 1 Gibsonburg, which bested No. 6 Castalia Margaretta 4-3 in Wednesday’s opener in Fremont, in a Division VI district final on Friday at Louise Ann Lease Memorial Field. Huron ended the season 12-11.

The Golden Bears got that something. BRYAN — Down three runs after one frame, Hilltop's softball team roared back with a six-run second and two-run third en route to an 8-5 win over Edgerton in Saturday's Division VII district final at Recreation Park in Bryan. With the win, the Cadets (26-3), the No. 2 seed in the Bryan District, secured the program's first district title since 2022 and fifth in program history. This is also Hilltop's third district championship of the 2020s.
