INDIANAPOLIS - Hundreds of thousands of Hoosiers will hit the road for the Fourth of July. AAA estimates 1.9 million Hoosiers will travel at least 50 miles over the Independence Day holiday period between June 28 and July 6. The travel forecast includes two weekends; AAA said that more accurately reflects the flow of holiday travelers and travel trends. Most of those Indiana travelers-1.78 million of them-will drive to their destination.

Sherman head to the northeast side to explore the works of local artist Shaunt'e Lewis. Her new studio is located at 6160 N. Rural St. It's open Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Tuesday through Thursday by appointment. Lewis, originally from Massachusetts, relocated to Indianapolis in 2011. The pandemic reignited her passion for art, and she transitioned from her job as a hairstylist to one as a full-time artist. Her art has been featured by major brands and events.

INDIANAPOLIS - Wednesday's storms cut a swath of damage across the Hoosier State that extended from east to west and north to south. As of 7:20 a.m., more than 78,000 power outages were reported statewide, with the bulk of those involving customers from AES Indiana (more than 32,000 outages) and Duke Energy (more than 30,000 outages). Parts of central Indiana were hit particularly hard, with numerous outages reported south of Indianapolis in areas near Bloomington and Edinburgh.
