The Chiefs' choices for potential veteran tackles are depleting at this point. No one can say for sure if the Kansas City Chiefs will turn to any more free-agent options when it comes to offensive line needs or depth. However, if the team was hoping the market would hold soem considerations for them following the 2025 NFL Draft, the selections thinned out a bit on Tuesday with the retirement of Tyron Smith.

The Chiefs have to at least make the call, even if it's unlikely to happen. Michael Mayer's availability wouldn't normally be a talking point. At just 23 years old, the former second-round pick of the Las Vegas Raiders entered the National Football League as a pro-ready prospect with a complete game—a well-rounded tight end who was supposed to be a long-term fixture for their offense. However, the Raiders’ selection of Brock Bowers in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft has changed the equation.

But perhaps the overall sentiment of a reunion could be in the works for the Kansas City Chiefs when it comes to cornerback L'Jarius Sneed.

Good to see former Chiefs still making waves. In an alternate universe, it could have been an exciting broadcast call on a touchdown play for the Kansas City Chiefs. In this dimension, it was the D.C. Defenders of the UFL who benefitted from the presence of two former Chiefs who connected for a very unlikely touchdown in a recent game against the St. Louis Battlehawks.

Honestly, the opportunity cost here was too much. Entrenched as the National Football League's villains given their run of dynastic success for most of the last decade, the Kansas City Chiefs have grown quite accustomed to playing in primetime on a regular basis. It feels good for players to showcase their skills in front of a national (and even global) audience, and the franchise benefits considerably in its profile and popularity.

How confident are you in the left side of the Chiefs offensive line at this stage of the offseason?

Feels like Shavon Revel should be discussed a lot more in terms of Chiefs' potential interest.
