SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU/Gray News) - Fire crews in Indiana battled a violent house fire on Sunday evening that left several people hurt, including a South Bend firefighter. The South Bend Fire Department was dispatched to the fire around 6:30 p.m. to the 200 block of LaPorte Avenue on the west side of South Bend. Five engines, multiple ambulances and dozens of firefighters responded to the fire. A firefighter fell through a floor in the building and was taken to Memorial Hospital.
