The winner of the 2025 Kia NBA Sixth Man of the Year award was announced on Tuesday and, sadly for fans of either (or both) the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Virginia Cavaliers, neither Ty Jerome nor De'Andre Hunter were selected as the Sixth Man of the Year. Instead, the award went to Payton Pritchard of the Boston Celtics. Pritchard won the award in a landslide over the other two finalists, Malik Beasley of the Detroit Pistons and Ty Jerome of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Virginia is in the mix for yet another defensive back target in the transfer portal. According to a report from On3's Pete Nakos on Tuesday (April 22), Tennessee defensive back transfer Christian Charles has scheduled visits to UVA and Miami, with his visit to Virginia expected to happen sometime this week. Charles has played in 30 games over the last four seasons for the Volunteers both at cornerback and at safety.

Virginia is reportedly hosting one of the top available offensive lineman in the transfer portal. According to a report from Greg Madia of the Daily Progress, Arkansas State offensive line transfer Makilan Thomas, a Second-Team All-Sun Belt Conference selection in 2023, is taking a visit to the UVA football program starting on Monday (April 21).

Virginia's quarterback depth took a minor hit as senior quarterback and projected third-stringer Gavin Frakes entered the transfer portal, he announced in a social media post on Monday night (April 22). Frakes, who originally transferred to Virginia from New Mexico State back in January of 2024 and did not see any time on the field this past season, will graduate from UVA this summer and enters the portal as a grad transfer with two years of eligibility remaining.
