WVIR-TV is the NBC-affiliated TV station serving Charlottesville, Virginia. It transmits a high definition digital signal on UHF channel 32 from its transmitter located on Carters Mountain, just south of Charlottesville. Viewers can watch WVIR on Comcast channel 4 and in high definition on digital channel 211. The station is owned by Waterman Broadcasting Corporation and has its studios situated on East Market Street (US 250 Bus) in Downtown Charlottesville.

    DANVILLE, Va. (WDBJ) - The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has released its preliminary report on a helicopter crash in Danville that killed the pilot in March, though no definitive cause has yet been determined. Pilot Paul Jackson died in the crash shortly after dropping two sightseers off in foggy weather, according to the investigation. The NTSB reports the crash took place about 3 p.m. March 15, 2025. The Robinson R44 helicopter was destroyed in the crash and ensuing fire.

(WDBJ) - A new bus route is in the works that would provide round trips from Danville to Greensboro to help foster the economic growth the city is seeing and add convenience for residents. Last year, the city surveyed over 800 locals to determine the demand for a regional bus service in the Danville area. 83% said they would use the service, and Greensboro was ranked the most desired route over Lynchburg, Martinsville, and South Boston.

    CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WSMV/Gray News) - The family of the late Tennessee Titans star tight end Frank Wycheck said he was suffering from chronic traumatic encephalopathy at the time of his death. Wycheck died in December 2023 after falling and hitting his head inside his home in Chattanooga. He was 52 years old. According to the Wycheck family, the diagnosis comes after working with the Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy Center at Boston University.
