    GRAND FORKS – Cirrus Aircraft broke ground Wednesday on its new expansion to add production capacity to its Grand Forks facility. “This is a big milestone,” Cirrus Grand Forks Executive Director Steve Thomas said. “I can’t get the smile off my face, I’m so happy.” The new 30,000-square-foot expansion will be on Cirrus' existing manufacturing facility in southwest Grand Forks. Cirrus is spending $15 million to expand its 170,000-square-foot facility, adding equipment and production capacity.

    GRAND FORKS – Grand Forks’ $1 million expansion of ponds along the south-end drainway is just the first phase to expand the stormwater system capacity south of 32nd Avenue South. Based on modeling done during a two-year study of south-end water management, the drainway — during historic precipitation events — could have issues storing all the water. If so, it increases flood risks to nearby property owners.

    EAST GRAND FORKS – The East Grand Forks City Council on Tuesday received information about a proposed expansion into the city by fiber internet and cable television service provider Bluepeak. The company already has a presence in Grand Forks, and representatives from the company told the council they view an expansion into East Grand Forks as a natural fit. Currently, East Grand Forks’ only other telecommunications franchise agreement is with Midco.

    GRAND FORKS – The Grand Forks City Council recommended moving forward with the second bid package for the Altru Sports Complex during its Committee of the Whole meeting Monday. Bids for the second package were opened last week and still under review. A formal decision will be made at the council’s next regular business meeting, on July 7. With the first bid package well under estimate, the project is currently $20 million under budget.

I'll just add it does make voter turnout calculations a fundamentally different calculation than in other states (the secretary of state uses a population estimate since there's no voter roll to reference)
