Julius Randle was a bit of a mess to open the second half of Game 2 against Golden State on Thursday in Minneapolis. The forward committed two turnovers, missed a 3-point attempt and failed to get back in transition in a three-plus minute stretch that helped the Warriors get back into the game. Timberwolves coach Chris Finch gave Randle a quick hook, sending the forward to the bench for the next two minutes, much to Randle’s dismay, which was evident in the veteran’s body language.
Red River girls soccer program experiencing historic season

GRAND FORKS — The Grand Forks Red River girls soccer team expected to have a strong season this year but perhaps not to this extent. After making the North Dakota Class A state tournament for the first time in 10 years last season, the Roughriders have taken the program climb up another notch. Red River is 9-0-1 entering Tuesday, looking for the program's first 10-win season since 2007-08. "I definitely thought we had a good team," Red River senior defender Alexis Geffre said.
New health training facility at Williston State College will fill a big need

In northwest North Dakota on the campus of Williston State College, JE Dunn is building a 44,000-square-foot building that will be a new health training facility. The project — worth more than $36 million — will offer a range of programs that local health care providers have long sought. Partnerships with four-year institutions such as the University of North Dakota and Minot State University will enhance the offerings to address critical health care needs in the area.

GRAND FORKS — Grand Forks Red River Principal Kris Arason was sitting outside the school’s front office right before dismissal with Tom Gabrielsen, who was spending some of his retirement years as the commons supervisor. Moments before the final bell rang, Gabrielsen was noting he had a mysterious wrist injury. As the final buzzer sounded and streams of students ushered out of Red River, Gabrielsen shook hands and bumped fists with dozens of exiting students.

"I was having an amazing game," the 6-foot-3, 285-pound defensive tackle said. "I think I would've been starting after that." Henry, however, would suffer a season-ending knee injury in the game. Gronhovd will be honored during an open house from 5 to 7 p.m., on Thursday, May 15, at City Hall, 255 N. Fourth St. Thirty of his photos will be on exhibit. The event is open to the public. Mayor Brandon Bochenski is expected to formally present the award to Gronhovd during the open house.
