GRAND FORKS — The Grand Forks Red River girls soccer team expected to have a strong season this year but perhaps not to this extent. After making the North Dakota Class A state tournament for the first time in 10 years last season, the Roughriders have taken the program climb up another notch. Red River is 9-0-1 entering Tuesday, looking for the program's first 10-win season since 2007-08. "I definitely thought we had a good team," Red River senior defender Alexis Geffre said.

The Fighting Hawks added Sacred Heart running back Xavier Leigh and junior college defensive back Idrique Carmichael of Pasadena following recruiting visits to Grand Forks over the weekend. Leigh gives UND some experience and depth.

Moments before the final bell rang, Gabrielsen was noting he had a mysterious wrist injury.
