A measure aimed at bringing reforms to the embattled Prisoner Review Board was approved by lawmakers in Springfield this week, and now heads to Governor JB Pritzker’s desk for his signature. The board handles all traditional parole decisions, executive clemency requests and victim notification regarding inmate releases. It came under fire last March with the release of Crosetti Brand.

The Funding U Illinois No-cosigner Loan is open to Illinois residents attending public or private institutions. The fixed annual percentage rate ranges from 7.99% to 9.49%. The loan does not take the student’s credit score — or lack thereof — into account.
