    OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Oklahoma City Thunder fans showed up in full force Sunday for Game 2 of the NBA Finals. The festivities began at noon Sunday afternoon for Thunder Up In The Park, and carried on into the evening for tip-off. “It is so awesome that the city has backed this team since the beginning and supports them. I mean, I’m so proud of everybody that comes to these games and and and supports the team,” said Jerry Spalbieri. Spalbieri said he’s been a Thunder fan for more than 15 seasons.

    NORMAN, Okla. (KFOR) — Norman Regional Health System laid off 10% of its workforce this week and also announced changes to certain services and clinic closures. Starting July 3, Endocrinology, Rheumatology Associates, Norman Regional Moore Pediatrics, South OKC Pediatrics and Oklahoma Wound Care clinics will be closed.     OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – The Heartland Flyer, Oklahoma’s only Amtrak train route, is facing permanent suspension after Texas lawmakers declined to fund its share of the route’s budget. Since June 14, 1999, the Heartland Flyer has provided daily routes between Oklahoma City and Fort Worth, Texas. The Heartland Flyer is a jointly funded partnership between ODOT and TXDOT, using each state’s tax dollars. The Heartland Flyer was recently being considered for expansion to Kansas.

    OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — After Epic Charter School laid off 357 employees Tuesday, parents are coming forward with concerns about the future of their children’s education. 83 of those fired were teachers. “No warning, there was no transparency. Some people were just like in shock, trying to process what was happening,” said Dulce Montoya. Montoya is the mother of two children, who have attended Epic Charter Schools for years. She described being taken by surprise when hearing about the firings.
