Eight years after two brothers were shot and killed in broad daylight, Columbia Police are still searching for answers Wednesday marks eight years since two half-brothers were shot and killed in broad daylight along I-70 Drive N.W. and Garden Drive in Columbia. According to the Columbia Police Department, at 12:45 p.m. on Sunday, March 26, 2017, officers responded to northwest Columbia and found three men shot inside a white 2007 Audi SUV riddled with bullets.

"When you have such a terrible thing happen and you don't have an answer for it, that really hurts the family and obviously the investigation," CPD Lt. Matt Gremore said.

Love Columbia’s transitional housing, Love Forward Homes, set to open in early 2026 The complex at 1221 E. Ash St. in Downtown Columbia will have six three-bedroom units and four two-bedroom units that can house up to 10 families. Love Columbia says in 2024, it provided 4,144 hotel nights to 162 households along with 1,788 nights of shelter to 13 families in the Love Forward Homes program.

Share The expected opening of the Voluntary Action Center's Opportunity Campus has been pushed back to March 2026. As of December 2024, the Opportunity Campus was expected to open in fall 2025. On Monday, Voluntary Action Center director Ed Stansberry said the initial timeline was a "best guess" and that weather has caused delays. All of the subcontracts are now in place and "as of today, we are told that we will be able to occupy the campus in March of 2026," Stansberry said Monday.
