    EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - A van crashed into the water at Bullock Cove in East Providence Thursday night. A 12 News crew saw the van several yards away from the shoreline off the Haines Park boat ramp around 10:30 p.m.Police say the 38-year-old driver accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake, and couldn't get the van out of the water in time. The driver was the only person in the van and got out before it submerged, police said. He was not hurt. The van has been pulled out of the water.

    SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) - A motorcyclist is facing charges after allegedly weaving in and out of traffic at 101 mph in South Kingstown. Paul Pereira Monteiro Jr., 32, of Lincoln, was seen speeding on Route 1 Thursday morning. Police said Pereira Monteiro Jr. later ditched his motorcycle at the Oliver Stedman Government Center and ran into the Wakefield DMV. He was identified by several witnesses and charged with reckless driving.

    PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) - Rhode Island FC is set to face the New England Revolution in the U.S. Open Cup Round of 32. The match will be held at the new Centreville Bank Stadium in Pawtucket on May 6 or 7, just days after Rhode Island's home opener. Official details, including kickoff time, will be confirmed later on Thursday. It will be the first meeting between the Revolution and its new neighboring team. The winner will face either Chicago Fire FC or Detroit City FC in the Round of 16.

    BOSTON (WPRI) - Boston is one step closer to being ready for Marathon Monday. Crews were out on Thursday installing the finish line on Boylston Street near Copley Square. The starting line was painted in Hopkinton on Wednesday. This year will mark the 129th running of the Boston Marathon.
