The state Senate on Tuesday voted overwhelmingly to alienate parkland beneath the parking lot at Citi Field, clearing a major obstacle for New York Mets owner Steve Cohen and his partners in their effort to bring a casino to Flushing. The bill, sponsored by state Sen. John Liu (D-Bayside) and vehemently opposed by Sen. Jessica Ramos (D-Jackson Heights), in whose district most of the roughly 50 acres sits, passed by a final vote of 54-5.
