A Bradenton man who beat and sexually assaulted a woman will spend the next three decades in prison, prosecutors said. A judge sentenced 30-year-old Amaury Fernandez to 30 years in prison for attacking and knocking an ex-girlfriend unconscious, according to court records. During the sentencing hearing, the judge called the case “one of the worst cases of domestic violence” she had seen, according to a news release. Fernandez beat the woman and sexually assaulted her, prosecutors said.

All lanes are open after a rollover crash blocked traffic near the DeSoto Bridge on Monday morning, according to social media posts by the Bradenton Police Department. Officers said they responded to the 800 block of First Street West around 5:55 a.m. after a Jeep rolled over in a multi-vehicle crash. Emergency responders brought one person to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
