Four people were injured in a fire in Aberdeen on Thursday morning, one of whom was medevac’d by Life Flight Network. Aberdeen police, as well as firefighters from Aberdeen, Hoquiam, and Cosmopolis responded to the call in the 200 block of S. Mill Street in South Aberdeen, following a neighbor’s report of an explosion, according to news releases from the Aberdeen police and fire departments. The report of a trailer fire came in after 8 a.m., said Fire Chief Dave Golding.

New engines enter service with Fire District 2

A quarter century after the last new engines to enter service with the district, Grays Harbor Fire District 2 welcomes a pair of new engines into service. One is currently being outfitted, while the other is already out on the roads, said Chief John McNutt, responding to its first call Saturday. “It’s something that’s been necessary. We’ve had lots of major repairs needed on the trucks we were using,” McNutt said in an interview.
Name of man killed in bus crash released

The Grays Harbor Coroner’s Office has released the name of a man killed after being involved as a pedestrian in a motor vehicle crash last week near Ocean Shores. Ronald D.M. Nelson, 33, of Aberdeen, was struck and killed by a Grays Harbor Transit bus on Oct. 10, said Coroner George Kelley in a news release. The crash occurred on state Route 115, near the entrance to Ocean Beach State Park, around 7 a.m., The Daily World previously reported, shutting down the highway for several hours.

Five people were evaluated for varying levels of injuries after a head-on crash on Monte-Elma Road on Saturday. One man was airlifted, said Chief John McNutt of Grays Harbor Fire District 2. "It was dispatched Monte-Elma Road Milepost 4. We were paged out at 12:44 p.m., afternoon," McNutt said in an interview. "We called Montesano for aid because of the numbers of patients."The Grays Harbor Sheriff's Office also responded to the crash.
Fire sweeps through Aberdeen house

Firefighters from all three Central Harbor departments responded to a structure fire in Aberdeen on Monday evening that began in the kitchen and gutted a house. No one was injured in the fire, said Chief Dave Golding of the Aberdeen Fire Department. “At 8:12 last night we got dispatched for a house on fire. Just right down the street,” Golding said, the fire occurring only a few blocks from Aberdeen’s main station.

The Aberdeen Police Department is seeking any information on a teenage boy who was last seen in Aberdeen last Thursday. Police are looking for information on the whereabouts of Noah Madison-Phillips, 15 years old. Noah is 6 foot tall and described as 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen in Aberdeen on Oct. 10. Any with information on Madison-Phillips is asked to contact Detective Sgt. Gary Sexton at 360-533-4100 ext. 4403, or to call 911 for an immediate sighting.

A 33-year-old Aberdeen man was struck and killed on state Route 115 outside of Ocean Shores on Thursday morning. The man, whose name has not been released, was hit by a northbound Grays Harbor Transit bus just before 7 a.m., said Sgt. Marty Hays of the Washington State Patrol. Emergency services had received calls about a man dodging in and out of traffic, Hays said, before a caller reported a bus had struck the man at 6:57 a.m. near the entrance to Ocean City State Park.
